Awesome...

listening to all the stories today. People telling me what they were doing last night while the Red Sox were going down in history. I had given up on them. I'm ashamed to say that I switched channels.

I was sitting right here writing about my thoughts on Pac-Man when my Dad called me to see if I was watching the game. He doesn't even like baseball. He's only been watching it for the past week because he knows I like baseball. Well, because he knows I like the Sox. When he told me it was tied up, I thought he was joking. And it was a really bad joke. And my Dad is not a jokester. Knowing that; I knew he was serious.

Thank you, Dad, for making sure that I saw one of the greatest comebacks in MLB history!!

I will be at Ramparts tomorrow night for game 6. I will have on my blue shirt and my blue hat. I will be drinking beer from my right and smoking cigs from my left. I will never cross my legs above the ankle. I will only do shots with my left hand. I will "air-kiss" from the left. "High-Fives" with left hand only. "Hip-checks" will also only be done on the left.

And the Sox will win because all of my neurotic, superstition-driven," can't-stand-if-the-Phillies-win"; - dribble actually means something!

Go Sox!!

Turn the lights out...

Please! Please turn the lights out. The show is over.

I don't know about you; but, I am so happy that Pac-Man is gone. At least for 4 weeks. Maybe more. I was surprised that Dallas opted not to discipline him over his latest indiscretion. I was not surprised that Goodell did.

I understand Dallas' position. They didn't necessarily try to sweep it all under the rug. "They" (whoever They are. GM? Head Coach? Legal team?) did an internal investigation and determined that Jones did not break any of the conditions of his contract. Simply because no charges were filed.

I'm sorry. I have to interrupt this post to say: GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just won 8-7 bottom of the 9th!!!!!!!

" First of all Rat, you never let on how much you like a girl. "Oh, Debbie. Hi." Two, you always call the shots. "Kiss me. You won't regret it." Now three, act like wherever you are, that's the place to be. "Isn't this great?" Four, when ordering food, you find out what she wants, then order for the both of you. It's a classy move. "Now, the lady will have the linguini and white clam sauce, and a Coke with no ice." And five, now this is the most important, Rat. When it comes down to making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV. "

It's official.

I'm working on some bad Karma right now. My fantasy team just lost by 1. That's right. One point. I went into tonights game back by 21. With Manning & Jacobs playing. My opponent was done last night. He didn't set his line-up, so it was like my 9 players against his 6. I was expecting AT LEAST 21 from Manning alone. All I needed was 12 more at half-time. At one point, we were tied. Then Manning threw another interception. -1 for me.

I've switched up my strategy. I am not watching the Sox game tomorrow night. I will not be taking phone calls or texts during that time. I'm going to wear my blue hat all night. Reverse psychology; if you will.

Wow...I obviously need to re-think my priorities.

I am convinced...

that there is some alien entity out there in the galaxy that has picked me to study. This course of study includes trying to make my head explode. First they make Clemson lose to WF. They make the Sox lose in an excruciating 5 1/2 hour 11 inning game in Florida. They make Bowden resign. And THEN, make the Sox lose in Boston 9-1. I was thinking it may be over; but my Fantasy team is behind 12 points right now. I have Manning & Jacobs. They're not looking that great.

If you happen to be walking behind me and see this guy:

Shoot him because I think he's trying to hurt me.

Sport Trifecta

That's me. I needed the Tigers to win tonight. I need the Sox to sweep the Rays. And I need my Fantasy Football team to win this w'end. I'm #2 and I'm playing #1. I'm very needy right now.

Hold my hand :)

Ouch

Well played. That's all I can say. I knew when Harper was sacked on the third play that this was going to be a tough game. WF was ready for us. It was obvious from the start. It looked like big scary Deacons falling from the heavens attacking little Tiger cubs. The Tigers looked OK for a while. We held them. But, we just freakin' fell apart in the 4th. Seriously, we looked tired. Like we had been playing a game with the Devil. The real one.

I've taken a deep breath. And a thought came to mind. Danny Ford sitting in a mountain retreat somewhere with a big cigar in his teeth. He just watched the game. And he's saying, "They should have never let me go, ya'll!" Of course, if he were still the coach; we would be on some type of probation. And this game probably wouldn't have been televised :)

peace....whatever that means

Clemson University Alma Mater

Where the Blue Ridge yawns its greatness;
Where the Tigers play;
Here the sons of dear Old Clemson,
Reign supreme alway.

We will dream of greater conquests
For our past is grand,
And her sons have fought and conquered
Every foreign land.

Where the mountains smile in grandeur
O'er the hill and dale;
Here the Tiger lair is nestling
Swept by storm and gale.

We are brothers strong in manhood
For we work and strive;
and our Alma Mater reigneth
Ever in our lives.

Dear Old Clemson,
we will triumph
And with all our might
That the Tiger's roar may echo
O'er the mountain height.

And again...

My Clemson Tigers. My Beloved Clemson Tigers. I don't even know what to say.

I do know this: When a team comes to Death Valley; they are READY. No matter who you are or how good you are; you are READY. It is considered a Coup to be able to beat the Tigers in Death Valley. The scary turtles from Maryland were all about that. And it's flattering. To be a team that other teams really want to beat at your house. Maryland did it. And we served them breakfast. Southern Hospitality.....

We are at Wake Forest on Thursday. Go Tigers!!!

And..

I'm knocking on wood as I write this: My power rank is #2 in my Fantasy League. Yes, it's true. Sometimes a vagina Is better than a penis. I only say that because I suspect there are a couple of guys in my league that don't particularly like playing in a league with a girl.

Here's hoping that E. Manning, Jacobs, Owens, Barber, F. Jones, Chambers, & D. Jackson all stay healthy!

Btw...I picked up Chris Henry off waivers....Hmmm....what do you think??

I know, I know.....

I've been a slack-ass. The Sox have been through the first round of the play-offs and I have said nothing here. In my defense; a very good friend of mine got married on Sunday. I have been doing Bachelorette things for the last several days. I had a glass or two.

I watched the game Wednesday with my pink Sox hat that was deemed lucky last season. (I wore it for all the play-off games and the World Series.) I did go to the Best Red Sox bar (where I work) to watch the Friday night game. I wore my pink Sox hat and they won. I dropped the ball on Sunday. That was wedding day. I was home in time for the last couple innings and I Fell Asleep! Without my hat!! Sacrilege! And they lost :(

Last night I watched every play (with my hat) to see Bay put his hand on Home Plate to win the game 3-2!!! And I do have to say that I really like Bay. He's what we got in the three-team trade when we let loose Manny. Whom I adore.

By the way: Varitek SO had control of the ball on that out!

So, now we're looking at meeting the Rays in Tampa on Friday. I can't decide how I feel about it. I'm hoping it isn't crazy. The Sox/Rays meetings have been kinda volatile this season.

_____________________

In either case; the craziest scenario is if the Sox meet the Dodgers in the World Series. I know that's what alot of people are hoping for. Damn.....what a game that would be!!
